Welcome to the Change Stories

Reading about and sharing personal experiences can be beneficial to your change effort. No matter where you are in your own process of positive life change, chances are someone else has been there. How might the lessons others have learned help you? What words of wisdom will you put in your ChangeU Story?

One Pound a Week (Give or Take)

Four years, two children and an extra 25 pounds. I was the high school beauty queen who could eat all she wanted and only watched others exercise. So what happened? I could blame my extra weight on the kids, my age, my desk job, possibly my love for pizza. Personal responsibility is a hard road - one I have walked many times but never for my weight. So I took a step and joined Weight Watchers. 16 weeks and 16 pounds lost. I reached my personal deadline on July 4th, 2010. On July 12th I lost my father. I became an emotional/stress eater (at least that was my excuse) and found six of those pounds in only six weeks.

As I stand here today - I have the choice to take the lessons I have learned and get back on track. I am at a point where I don't want to go ignore my issues and fall further from my goals. What I have learned is that change is not a linear process, but that all change is self-change.
